Dream girl- A portrait by Anand (that’s me 😅)

Love is beautiful, in all forms of it.

Okay so its the continuation of previous story “Those 5 minutes” that i posted on 5-Aug. After a friend’s suggestion and a little thought I decided that the plot can be extended. so here is what happened after those divine five minutes of Aman’s life.

Do check out “Those 5 minutes” if you haven’t yet.

Quick recap- Aman was having beautiful moment with her but then he had to leave to deal with some problem that had come up during the college even as he was one of core committee members and well known face whom every one preferred to go to for any issue. After the event he looked for her but she had left. He felt sad first but the next moment he was happy as in that moment he finally decided to propose her.

let’s find out what happened next.

The sleepless night:

Aman went back home with happy heart. He couldn’t sleep that night. His hearts beats were high just with the thought that he will propose her. Whole night he kept thinking about the different ways he could propose, she is already a friend and knows him very well, may be more than anyone else does in entire collage; may in life! yes no one knows him better than her. And hence it is more surprising that how she could not know this one thing in all these years. Or, does she know but never says anything? He kept wondering.

He decided to ask her out on Valentine’s day. But where?

CCD? No. Dominos? No. City mall? No, why would she come to mall with me with out any reason! Why would she come anywhere without a reason? She won’t bunk classes too. And if I ask her out, she would suspect. What if she denies directly? No, can’t take that risk. College canteen? No too many people around.  Aman mind was pondering on different ideas, but he couldn’t think of one useful. Can I take her to the nearby park? Will she agree! She would know that its valentine day what if asks the reason before coming? So many thoughts racing in his mind. He was examining all his options but couldn’t settle on any one idea.

Finally it dawned on him. Library! Yes! This sounds better. And she will come to library, no questions asked.  There won’t be anyone to around. This way even if she says ‘No’ he can continue being her friend and no one would get to know anything ever. He finally decided, 14th Feb, early morning before the classes starts, in library. His heart was now pounding out of excitement.

Entry of a 3rd person and the proposal:

After the event Monday was announced day-off for everyone.  So, they met on Tuesday. As usual they preferred to go for lunch together and away from the crowd. In a small food court beside college building.

“Do you know Priyansh?” she asked casually.

“Yes. I do.” He replied. “What happened?”

“What kind of guy is he?” she answered with another question.

“Umm, he is sort of a friend. But don’t know him very well” Aman was thinking what the matter could be. “A good guy I would say.” He concluded.

“Sunday evening he came to me.” She said, trying to sound as casual as possible.

“came to you?” Aman enquired.

“Arey, I left early remember?” she was explaining “Actually, he called me and asked to meet.”

“He gave me a big dairy milk and said he likes me.” She added further.

“What did you say?” Aman was surprised. Is it too late? He asked himself in mind.

“Nothing, told him I don’t even know you. And you are saying you like me?” she explained further “but he said he has been seeing me for few months now and he likes me a lot.”

“And then I notices that I had seen him few times outside our classroom and in canteen too.” she continued.

“What did you say?” Aman stopped her mid-way.

“I said I will think.” She replied.

“So done thinking? Gonna tell him No or not?” he wanted to make sure she denies Priyansh.

This couldn’t happen now. Not after these many years. Not when he finally decided to tell her about his feelings.

“Why!  I was actually thinking to try it. He is good looking. And you are saying that he is a good guy, so I think I can give it a chance” She was surprised on why Aman wanted otherwise.

“Nice. I said he is good guy so you will start dating him! wow” he was harsh this time.

“What happened? you don’t like him?” she enquired. But Aman kept quiet.

“Is there any problem?” she insisted.

“Yes. The problem is I love you. I don’t know what you think but I love you very much.” He blurted out. There was a pause as he realized what he said just then. His face flushed.

He didn’t want it. Not this way. But it was done now the words had left his mouth and couldn’t be taken back.

“Aman! Seriously?” she was stunned with this revelation.

— to be continued..

What will she say? will she say yes? Is it the happy ending then? or their friendship will break?
